Caring for the Environment

Educational Planning Books is situated in the beautiful Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Living and working in such an amazing place and now with a young family makes caring for the environment of great importance. For this reason, at EPB we are dedicated to managing environmental impacts in a responsible way.

We make every effort to minimise waste. We do this by reducing the amount of packaging used and ensuring we order just the right amount of stock. Any waste we do have is a reused or recycled. Recycling processes are actively promoted within the company, and everyone is committed to following them.

All our product materials are from well managed sources. They are certified by the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) or recycled. Additionally, we look to work with companies that are also environmentally responsible as well as purchasing products and services that do the least damage to the environment. 

We have recently taken measures to improve the efficiency of energy usage for example changing our lightbulbs to LEDs and turning off warehouse machinery at lunchtimes. In addition, we have just invested in a more economical boiler and thermostat system for our office. Looking to the future we will move to a new environmentally friendly shrink film and have solar panels fitted to our roof.
